Commuter Cycling20m

Sport comments: To/from shop to buy a new bike lock. Leg hurt pretty badly on the way back. Probably got ambitious with all the riding.

I really enjoy riding my cross bike, Queso, all over town for my errands. He's awesome. My handling is improving and I'm feeling very comfortable on a bike again. Good way to ease back into it. Can't wait to ride my tri bike in a month or two!

Updated Idiot blog. Nothing terribly exciting.

So true.
sick

25m 4.00 miles -----
6:30 AM

Cross bike, to Del Ray & back. Just to get out of the house since the weather was nice.

My handling skills (even jumping small curbs) are improving.

40m 6.00 miles -----
12:00 PM

To/from Old Town to meet Teag's for birthday lunch. Tummy still upset, didn't feel good after. Disappointed I couldn't even consider a cupcake :(

Love Colbert! I'll be there.

BT ate my freaking post. *sigh* I wrote a recap/update from a "life list" I found, that I had written years ago. Funny that I've never looked at it since and yet, did most of the things on it.

Anyway, my only goal for the next year is to start school by next fall and find a job I love. Or one that I can tolerate that pays well. School might be spring, might be summer (most likely) or next fall. We'll see.

I found a list that I made and in the past several years I've done most of the things on the list. The only things I didn't were do HIM's regularly or another IM and start school. I think the military counts as school and  prevented me from doing tri's. So I don't think that's necessarily a "fail" category. I did enter health care, just via a different path.

I had several cups of coffee this morning with a friend. Long distance on Skype, but it was very nice. Didn't feel alone Cupcakes later!

55m 9.00 miles -----
4:00 PM  Home to Jefferson (Route Hx)
Climb: 361 feet

78 degrees, breezy, cross bike! Felt ok. Energy level decent since I held down my brunch. Leg hurt when I got to Jefferson, so I turned around and took it easy home instead of doing the Capitol/Mall loop. Good ride, trail crowded so I rode in the grass as much as I could.

-bike shorts too big
+can't find Garmin
+no bike computer
=
forgot what it feels like to be an athlete.

Big pile of nothing. Car in the shop and feeling like shit.

Wish I could find my iPod. I'm so far out of the 'workout world' I don't even know where to look.

Sports
Walking2h 00m

Sport comments: Extensive tour of Fallingwater, Frank Lloyd Wright house in PA. Lots of standing and walking. Leg hurt something fierce on the drive home.

HOWEVER, 2 months ago I wouldn't have even been able to attempt a tour like this. Progress.

Was supposed to take a 3 day bike trip, but that was canned for several reasons including my inability to shake this sickness and car in the shop. And obviously was going to just be a 'try and see' thing with my leg. Oh well.

Walking45m

Sport comments: With Ory around the neighborhood.

I think my short hair works. Really like it.

Having a hard time trying to figure out how much CF I'll incorporate into IM training. I need the bike base & lots of time...but I love CF so much I can't see giving it up. Torn between 2 very different theories. If I hadn't broken my leg, I could do more CF and less endurance training, but I am starting with no endurance base. I don't know how happy I'd be cutting CF out. Guess I'll just see as I go as none of it matters right now until I can start doing regular training again & I want to do some baseline testing to figure out some sort of plan.

Big Bang theory is awesome.

04m 218.72 yards -----

Only 200 free. Probably not even worth logging.

Did leg exercises and easy breast stroke too. Basically just a cool down after CF.

Sports
Crossfit20m

Sport comments: 4 rounds:
13:37
10 pullups
12 ring dips
16 wall throws (side wall ball for me)
20 sledgehammer

Did some extra sledges and stuff. :)

Busy, but very fun week! Long, busy weekend ahead. Still not feeling great, not looking forward to it.

Too much change and uncertainty.

Long walks on the beach at sunset...oh wait, I mean: Running, some swimming, and biking when I have to. Anything outside, watersports, trails, travel, reading, museums, gardens, mountains...you get the idea.
